Residential Equipment Replacement Permitting

  • Life/Safety: Improper
installation of water heaters can cause serious injuries. Hot water can permanently scar or even kill in seconds. An explosion could destroy your property. This is why all new and replacement water heater installations MUST have a permit.

  • Criminals: Why would you let someone in your home or business you don.t know? Hire only a licensed plumbing contractor, so you don.t put your family or business at risk.

  • Liability: If you hire an unlicensed individual, and that person is injured on your property, you will be liable to cover their medical expenses.

  • Recourse: If problems arise with workmanship issues performed by an unlicensed individual, your only recourse is hiring an attorney to file a lawsuit, as the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and its protection won.t be available.

  • Life/Safety: The employee performing the water heater installation for a licensed contractor must be registered and certified every three years in order to install water heaters. They wear photo identification that includes a certification number, employer name and their contractor's registration number.

  • Trust: That's right, you can trust that the employees of a licensed contractor entering your home or business are good honest citizens. and the best craftsmen in our community.

  • Liability: There is none. Licensed contractors are registered with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, they are bonded, insured and all carry workers compensation.

  • Recourse: All licensed contractors are responsible to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, which in turn protects the property owner with the state.s recovery fund.
Note: Homeowners can install their own water heaters as long as they live in the home, but if the repair is done for the "sale" of the home, or if it is rented, you are required to use a licensed contractor.
